FUNCTIONAL FLOODPLAINS EXPLORER

Conservation Science Partners has partnered with American Rivers to conduct the National Functional Floodplains Assessment and develop the Functional Floodplains Explorer, a publicly accessible interactive tool quantifying the degree of floodplain protection and alteration across the United States.

This web-based tool offers conservation practitioners a better understanding of the extent of floodplain protection, floodplain threats, human flood risk, and floodplain biodiversity. Identifying opportunities to invest in new and secure existing protections is possible.
